I use a handy tool under NT INTEL called ChkMem, it brings up a little meter
that tells you how much memory is available, like Amiga Workbench on the title
bar.  there are a few options too, like update date, and memory display ie.

  "05052 kBytes of 32 MB free, load:00"  - Show Physical memory only..
  "83876 kBytes of 00 MB free, load:00"  - to see memory alloc inc pagefile.

Great tool for Intel users.  This is why I think there must be a bug in LW,
as this application has no problem in letting you know how much free memory
you have under NT.
